UBeware of Advocate AK Sriram at Madras High Court for Civil Cases
I want to share a crucial warning about my recent experience with Advocate AK Sriram at the Madras High Court regarding a civil land dispute.
Background of the Case
In 2006, my parents legally purchased land from Mr. X, who was the absolute owner. The patta was mutated in my parents’ names accordingly.
However, Mr. X’s sons (Y), who were already in dispute over the land, filed a writ to cancel the patta, which the High Court dismissed.
A year after the dismissal, through corruption and bribery, they managed to illegally alter the patta by influencing the Tahsildar.
Our Legal Battle & Shocking Betrayal
We filed a writ against this fraud, and everything seemed to be proceeding well.
We engaged AK Sriram as our senior counsel, trusting his expertise and paying ₹5.5 lakhs for just two hearings.
However, on the final hearing day, he stayed silent, failing to even mention the existing High Court order protecting the patta.
The most critical fact—that the High Court had already ruled against patta cancellation—was never presented before the judge.
As a common citizen I can easily understand the facts very well but these guys who are at High court on daily basis cannot even speak about it and being mum throughout the court proceedings.He has colluded with the opposite party.well many can’t believe it’s true and factual.Even I have full evidence of the Screen recording of the High court VC.
after this incident within 1 hour I mailed him about this conduct and there seems no reply from his side 🥺
Conclusion & Warning
It was shocking and disappointing to see a lawyer, paid such a hefty fee, remain silent at the crucial moment. Given the land value exceeding ₹7 Cr, I strongly believe he was bribed to compromise our case.
I strongly advise against engaging AK Sriram for any civil matters at Madras High Court. If you’re dealing with property disputes, please do thorough background checks before hiring legal counsel.

PHi, Since the land value is high and you stand to lose, I hope you are appealing to a division bench in MHC and see that this injustice is reversed

UYes yesterday only it has been dismissed.
We are filing a review application before the same judge and also will file a writ appeal also.
Seriously, AK Sriram did a blunt on us since we gave my case to my friend who is an advocate on record who is a young advocate who just graduated from the law council but with good intentions of doing the legal profession.I want to give opportunity to young lawyers that’s my policy.
We only engaged this guy( AK Sriram ) for arguments since Sr counsel can argue on any case across India.
Since high court is like a collegium all our cases are handled by a bunch of sr. Counsels who are all thick friends within the system.
Junior lawyers who were very honest with me with all updates of my case were utterly shocked by this move.
Maybe I suspect the ego and a guilt trip of these senior counsels that all the junior lawyers are getting good clients like me ( who pay a good fee and on time payment before arguments).So that if I dismiss a case of a junior he will not get good clients. That’s the reason I suppose.
Clarity on this as well needed from this group.

UCurrently I am getting threat calls that ( XYZ ) will file a defamation case soon on you if u spread information about him…..
Is this how a common hard working entrepreneur is being threatened with defamation case threats when a Sr counsel who took fees for conducting my case & couldn’t even speak on facts which even a client like me knows.
