May 2, 2025 at 5:26 amHi folks. I belong to OBC. My father was a group A central govt officer. I never knew I was an OBC. My father never mentioned it as I believe it was due to his post, the children are OBC-CL.He passed away in 2022 and now my sister has to appear for NEET-PG. Can she claim OBC-NCL. My mother receives a pension >8lpa.
Many thanks.

May 2, 2025 at 7:54 amIdeally no. Parental Group A job is clearly mentioned as one of the reasons which pushes a person outside the creamy layer. -

May 4, 2025 at 5:10 pmCan you clarify one thing, did your father join as direct recruit group A officer or promotee officer? If promotee , would be in non creamy layer if he was promoted after the age 40.[https://doptcirculars.nic.in/OM/ViewOM.aspx?id=471&headid=6](https://doptcirculars.nic.in/OM/ViewOM.aspx?id=471&headid=6)
Please refer this link. I have also reproduced relevant paragraph for convenience.
Creamy layer criteria.
Sons and daughters of parents either of whom or both of whom are Class I officers and such parent(s) dies / die or suffer permanent incapacitation.
