March 5, 2025 at 1:50 pmHey Reddit, I need advice on how to deal with Amazon India regarding a major issue with a recent purchase.I ordered a **Samsung 1.5 Ton 3 Star AI Inverter Smart Split AC** from Amazon on **March 1, 2025**, which was advertised with **5.2 kW cooling power**. However, when it was delivered on **March 3, 2025**, I realized they had sent me a model with only **4.4 kW cooling power**—not what I ordered or paid for
I do have video proof while ordering which showed that my product had clearly mentioned cooling power of 5.2KW and fun fact the current page still has the images on the product page still show 5.2 kW cooling power
To make matters worse, after I checked again, Amazon had **changed the product description on their website**, now listing the cooling power as 4.4 kW and marking it as “unavailable.” This seems like a clear case of misleading advertising.
I contacted Amazon customer support multiple times, but they keep **asking for a job sheet from Samsung** to process the return. **Samsung, however, refuses to provide a job sheet because there’s no technical defect—just a mistake by the seller.** They say it’s Amazon’s responsibility, not theirs.
So now I’m stuck. I have an AC that doesn’t match what I ordered, Amazon refuses to replace or refund it without a document that Samsung won’t provide, and I’ve wasted hours on frustrating calls with no resolution.
Im sending Amazon a **legal notice** under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, demanding a replacement and compensation for the trouble they’ve caused. If they don’t respond , I plan to escalate this to the **Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission** and take legal action.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Any tips on how to push Amazon to resolve this? Appreciate any help!

March 5, 2025 at 2:00 pmHi, you are right. They have changed it to 4400 Watt, this feels like a major scam. I will also change and update in my AC list. Thanks for making this post.

March 5, 2025 at 2:03 pmDoes the model number match the description??
If so then it maybe a mistake in their listing, if the model number matches. It can go either way in consumer court. If you have video proof, did you intentionally buy it with the knowledge of listing being wrong?
Always check specs in manufactures website.

March 5, 2025 at 2:10 pmModel number of the Samsung ac. It must be listed on the packaging or on the product. Check the model number with information on Samsung website to see what cooling power the model has-

March 5, 2025 at 2:14 pmLet me rephrase. Does the model number, which was listed on the Amazon site and is available on the samsung site, have the same claimed cooling power on the Samsung site as what Amazon promised?

March 5, 2025 at 6:01 pmMan, it is 5 step AC. What they advertised is at 120% step. it will be 4.4×1.2=5.28kw. Look at the star label they might have mentioned capacity at 100%, add 20% more and you will get a figure close to their advertised.-

March 6, 2025 at 2:52 amBS i sell ACs and brands dont market their ACs at their full capacity, also samsung makes shit ACs, 4400w shouldn’t even be considered 1.5Tn its 1.3Tn at best.-

March 6, 2025 at 12:28 pmWhat’s the best AC brand right now? Need to buy one soon. 1.5 ton for a room on the 1st floor (just below the roof) and 1 ton AC isn’t able to handle the cooling (already changed the capacitor twice because it got burnt).

March 6, 2025 at 3:36 amBecause you cannot return, it is service center replacement only or if it is defective or dead on areival, then when the service center people comes to install, they have to provide a job sheet with the defect mentioned, then they will replace it. You cannot return it.-

March 6, 2025 at 3:47 amI see only “10 Days Replacement by Brand” under returns on ACs. For large items, you cannot do anything. In good faith they do sometimes accept returns but for that the item has to be genuinely wrong item but in this case the product number matches the delivered product model number so they won’t do sh!t here.

March 6, 2025 at 2:25 amAdvocate here.File a Consumer Case. You don’t have to pay a single fee (meaning Court fee) if you are fighting in person.
Claim the total amount of the consideration of good you have given to the Amazon along with mental compensation you endured. Highlights their irresponsible nature and now their action caused you the deficiency.

March 6, 2025 at 3:33 amDoes the model number on the AC match the item that you ordered? If so then you have no grounds. There could be a typo in the descriptions. But as long as the model# matches, you just may have to live with it.
