April 6, 2025 at 4:03 amNAL . Didn’t your partner know the money is not yours? What did he spend it on? I think you need to take loan and then return it to him . -

April 6, 2025 at 4:12 amThose funds were not yours to use. Since you’ve refused to return back the money which wasn’t rightfully yours (irrespective of the reason), the party who sent it only has legal recourse left to use, which they’re using and are well within their rights.Whether you’re a small startup or a multinational conglomerate, everyone is expected to have the basic realisation to not use the money that is not theirs. Maybe do a better job of keeping track of your credits next time. You’re in the wrong here.
You may also choose to go the legal route and prove to the court that you really couldn’t differentiate that the money wasn’t yours and that it was sent in error, and there’s an ultra slim chance that the court will agree and be empathetic and allow you some time to return the money. You’ll still have to pay back nonetheless, and in the time decided.
Your only safe option now is to simply contact the other party and request them politely to give you an additional time. Don’t make vague statements like “As soon as I have the Money”, since nobody’s running a charity, these things usually don’t fly. Have a fixed (and not very long) timeframe to work with. Maybe work out a payment plan with them?
All the best!
