VI am not against your love for dogs and cats but their are many cases where stray dogs have done a lot of damage or even deaths of innocent people.
Today my neighbour faced a backlash when he was trying to remove a stray dog from stairs to the hallway.A psychopath dog lover interfaces and made the matter worse. So what happened was my neighbour who is a 50 old man, caring and charming personality was trying to remove a stray dog from the stairs my sprinking water at the dog and kindly pushing him to get up and ran away. A dog lover came and poured a bucket of water on my neighbour’s shirt and pushed him aggressively. And insulted and said many bad words to him while his dog (the psychopath’s) keep barking and threatening to bit. After a while some people came and calmed down the dog lover while the uncle (my neighbour) was in tears after such a harsh treatment.

1) what actions can we take against this dog lover who insulted and humiliatedy neighbour
2) any helpline number to call so as to remove the stray dog from the colony ?
3) what will you do in such a case ?

SYour neighbor was committing a criminal offence, cruelty to animals. There are better ways to handle this, including taking help of feeders. Dogs will come back when that “caring and charming” man is back inside, and when he’ll “kindly sprinkle water” again to remove the dog, the dog might get aggressive and bite.
Read the PCA 1960 and Animal Birth Control Rules 2022. This problem can be solved in non-criminal ways too.

Also a matter of fact the dog smells bad and blocks the pathway to the hall.-
SYou can’t keep removing the dogs while keeping an easy access to the stairs. You can coordinate with the feeders to train dogs to not come up stairs with POSITIVE reinforcement. Remember, negative reinforcement will make the dogs anxious and more prone to biting. Allocate feeding spots. Make some DIY dog shelter spots downstairs, and then dogs will stay downstairs.
We need to take lessons and inspiration from Gandhi ji rather than simply celebrating his birthday without building any empathy.
