I was told by someone that there are so many NGOs who can help families who have members with schizophrenia that I can reach out to. I am 19M, my dad’s schizophrenia has had a terrible impact on us. Especially my mother, and her marriage. Relatives are fucking relentless and rather hellbent on asserting ownership on our property. They keep saying he’s mad but he’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia and we know it for a fact that that’s what it is. I need some sort of external help. I feel so alone. ๐Ÿ™

So sorry that sounds like an awful lot to go through. Will pray for your family ๐Ÿ™. You can take him to a good psychiatrist, often times good medication coupled with therapy will help a great deal. I’m so sorry you have to go through this at such young age. Stay strong brother.

Schizophrenia is totally treatable .The person will refuse to seek medical help but if you get them they will turn out normal

Getting the person to take meds is the hardest part actually. Unlike other diseases, you cannot just ask them to take meds. They’re in denial and what not. Even worse, they think you’re trying to poison them or trying to prove that they’re mad. The whole paranoia aspect of it makes everything so much fucking worse.

There are some new medicines for schizophrenia that need to be injected only once a month. They can help in compliance. Ask the doctor to see if they are available in India.

                          Sorry to note Bro.

You should be setting an appointment with a psychiatrist. Check with social workers or enquire with government hospital.
