Are there any consequences of selling ipl or concert tickets in black?

One of my classmates earns 4 lpm by just selling tickets in black. He may or may not be lying about the extent of his profits, but I just want to know are there any legal ramifications on doing so?

If organizers deliberately create an artificial demand-supply gap and run it like a racket, it can be illegal under anti-profiteering and unfair trade practice laws.

Yes, you should show it as “income from other sources”. Since ticket scalping is illegal, authorities may also impose penalties under Section 271(1)(c) for concealment of income.

Scalpers aren’t looked upon favorably since they sell tickets at very high premiums. If I there was a gig I really wanted to go to and I was forced to pay a hefty bonus to you for essentially doing no work, I’d absolutely report you since I’m savvy enough to know how to complain about your activities.

Yes it’s very true, one of my friend did the same with IPL tickets and other concert tickets and he earned similar amount.
