Assault at home + CCTV proof + local political pressure trying to block FIR what can we do?

Hello

I need legal advice regarding a situation involving my cousin.

my cousin had a verbal argument with someone over a phone call. Later, that person showed up at our house with a group of men (goons) and physically assaulted my cousin and our family members.

We have **CCTV footage clearly recording the entire incident**, including the attackers.

The problem is that a **local political person not at any position just a member of BJP** is supporting the attackers and trying to prevent us from filing an FIR.

We want to understand:

1. What are our **legal options if the police refuse or delays to register an FIR**?
2. Can we directly approach a **magistrate or higher authority**?
3. How can we ensure our **CCTV evidence is properly considered and preserved**?
4. What sections of law would apply in such a case (assault, trespassing, etc.)?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Few questions; how old is the cousin and the person involved? who was the first aggressor in the call? was there any physical assault towards the family members? if yes, what kind and their gender

both are 20+ yes like the family members tried to save my cousin so they also assaulted them my cousin, his father, his mother and his sister (she is around 28)

Your case is very strong. Get the medical done asap for all those who are injured. Hire a lawyer for the FIR

Get MLC done in government hospital and write a detailed complaint and approach the SI/PSI with video evidence , don’t forget to sign the register in PS.
if fir not done, you can do PCR with magistrate where he will direct the ps to take complaint n make FIR.
don’t bow down, take help of lawyer.

send fir trhow the post and next day at evening go police station and get a lawyer ( usually when we post fir throw post next day fir fecive by policestaton if live in same place )

Give application in sp office.

And next time in elections just vote sensibly and responsibly by looking at face and background of your local candidate , not by looking at the face of cm/pm or party.
