That kid needed to be taught the hard way ! Now, if you wish to spoil the kid more by initiating such legal actions, then by all means go for it. But don’t regret it later when he grows up to be a chhapri loafer.

UJust because abuse was common back then doesn’t justify it now. People didn’t have enough toilets to use back then, so does it justify defacating on the roads now?
Second off, what legal advice does your comment contribute to OP’s question. The suggested advice would be to file a grievance with the state education ministry or with the school management then proceed to initiate legal action via an FIR or a compensation claim filed in a civil court, if satisfactory action is not taken.Till then an interim injunction can be filed to prevent the teacher from teaching till compensation is paid.
Child abuse is a serious crime – corporal punishment is a regressive concept. Merely not doing homework is not a justification to beat a child.

QWell, I think he should complete homework next time. It could be possible, teacher might be extra harsh. Just talk to the teacher causally and get the correct report. If teacher is serial beater, you can speak to Principal but one of the incidence are normal in India

RI saw the photo in the Faridabad Reddit and it infuriated me! Corporal punishment is illegal in India, you need to file a complaint against the teacher and the school ASAP. There’s no point speaking to the Principal in my opinion, an apology/suspension of teacher would not compensate the emotional and physical pain caused to your brother.

UDo not delay this! A visit to principal is must! But keep your calm, cause getting agitated wouldn’t be in your favour cause schools are usually too worried about their reputation! So stay calm and smart but do take action.
Hitting a child is never an answer to any wrong doing! And in this case it’s just some stupid homework!!!!
