March 17, 2025 at 2:41 pmI purchased a flat thinking lawyer checks would be enough. Lawyer took 25k but didnt check any documentation. Because of this we had to take possession with preponed date in possession letter. No checks like NOC from society, electricity name, property taxes and property tax name from builder. Then we hired another lawyer who took 7k and sent legal notice to builder but builder didnt do anything without just replying. Society always refused posts.
This same partner laywer didnt tell us to just raise a registrar complaint. This wasted time like 6-7 months and society sent us a notice to clear dues for maintenance we already paid to builder. These partner lawyers just made the thing worse and telling us just when society sent second notice to send a registered post with cheque which society refused and cut our garbage.
Society then made us cough up double maintenance + interest + transfer fees. Society lawyer also made us suffer and harrased us along with committee.
These lawyers dont have any google reviews. How do I write a negative review about these without jeopardising myself.

March 17, 2025 at 3:50 pmADVOCATE HERE. That’s exactly why we give out written commitments with identified priorities/goals. Nonetheless, in your case, you can go ahead and file a Bar Council complaint against your previous counsel for being negligent. If you can really prove your stance, you might just get his license suspended for a while. However, be alerted that he will 100% pursue appeal and during appeal proceedings, his license would be restored. My best wishes.-

March 18, 2025 at 2:51 pmSpeaking from experience, no advocate gives a receipt in return. But this doesn’t give confidence to a client. Hence, we include technology/digital payments to help our clients. In your given case, it is bound to fail, so, your ideal way would be that, without even asking your advocate, just directly pay using UPI and send him a screenshot. This is, of course, subject to whether you trust him or not.

March 18, 2025 at 5:51 pmThanks. Is there any online portal where I can do it? I am hoping this would not cause a backlash and even I as a layman can file a grievance-

March 19, 2025 at 3:14 amYou won’t receive any backlash, don’t you worry about it. However, facility to file the same online is dependent on the State and Bar Council concerned, you will have to check yourself. My best wishes.
