Hi, i currently reside in Mumbai and I am a 4th year student. I worked as an AI trainer on a platform, outlier. It paid me in USD and gave me choice of two platforms, airtm and paypal. As airtm gave better conversion rates, so I chose that. Initially I did not had any knowledge about P2P scams going on airtm in India. A transaction of mine of around 30k was put on hold. When I came to know about this, I had 2k+ dollars in airtm, which I had to convert in rupees, so I converted them and invested them without delay. After some days my account was put on hold, I enquired through my branch and cyber cell and came to know that a complain was registered in west bengal. My branch manager told me that it will resolved after some days but it’s been 3 months now and the issue is not resolved. I just want to remove the hold on my account, I am willing to forgo 30k. I have proofs of all the payments I recieved from outlier. Is there a way I can resolve this issue without going to west bengal? The complaint is registered in bhagwangola police station, murshidabad, west bengal.

Any help will be appreciated.

You don’t need to goto west bengal for this. You can file an application before the local magistrate where your bank account is. Approach a lawyer

What should I write in the application? Also how can I approach a lawyer in west bengal? I have heard that they also charge a lot of money

Approach a lawyer locally, not all lawyers are expensive and I’m sure you will get the help you need.

No need for lawyer you can just ask for complaint number from bank and contact cyber police where the complaint has been Lodged, no need to go there and you shall present your facts with them then they will instruct bank people to remove hold on account, meanwhile you can ask bank to mark a lien on disputed amount and unfreeze account

Hey bro the same has happened with me the amount has been kept on lien but I am afraid but no one has contacted me for any kind of complaint.

Ask your Bank to provide contact details like email or cell no of concerned police station then you have to present your case with them

I am not able to connect to the bank as of now I will be going to the branch once I am home do I have to worry? Because I am in great tension now.

No need to worry, you can try bank’s toll free if they can help Otherwise stay calm nothing bad can happen
