April 22, 2025 at 4:04 amHi, I record every single call on my phone.I had recorded a call that I made to customer care to clarify whether I would be charged for a particular transaction or not. I was told I wouldn’t be but it turned out that customer care lied/misrepresented the information.
Can I send the recording to customer care email ID as evidence of wrong info provided by customer care? Or should I desist from doing that given that recording calls without their consent might be illegal and violation of privacy laws?

April 22, 2025 at 5:30 amNAL – Generally, when you record a call, the phone gives out a warning saying the call will be recorded which IMO is consent to record and not illegal after that.-

April 22, 2025 at 6:06 amNot necessarily, samsung have this classic feature which makes it more superior to any other phone of any brand. No warning or no kind of alert. Just silently records calls when answered.-

April 22, 2025 at 9:31 amYou can use this with bank Ombudsman to strengthen your argument. I was once sold an insurance policy in the name of investment. And the importance details like surrender policy was not shared nither during application not during a verification call from agency so i used my own recorded conversation with bank agent and agency phone call to put up my arguments. It took time but they at last cancelled the policy and full refund was given.-

April 22, 2025 at 9:49 amBTW recording your won conversation is not illegal until it invades othe ends privacy and put his personal life in harm. So if your record conversation with bank employee which is in relation with your financial matters and have no relation with their privacy, then nothing to worry you can use that recording.
