Many of you may have read the above post. Few weeks ago I wrote a post here about how a man’s family was implicated in a false case merely because of rejecting a girl’s proposal for marriage after meeting them. But it was taken down by the MODS. Many people also abused me in the comments.

I am repeating again. Be careful while visiting the girls family. Meet second time ONLY if you are reasonably sure of the girl. They have the legal means to falsely accuse you of dowry etc etc before marriage too.

Nothing can be done

Anyone can file case, and the parties need to fight it out in the court.

Also, there are so many people who go for seeing rishta. I definitely think there is more to the story.

People don’t have time to file cases for their marriage age daughter and lose the reputation.

This doesn’t seem like any big concern. Filing such fake cases won’t result in any serious damage. Both parties must pay for lawyers, appear in court, and suffer possible loss of reputation.

OP please don’t fearmonger.

If the roles were reversed, the guy and his family could have faced stricter action.

Op topic:

1. Saying no to a prospective marriage offer, especially in such a timely fashion, is not a crime. The girl and her family are essentially on a power trip.
2. De-escalate but also keep records of all communications.
3. They may try to implicate you in false cases of DPA and S69 BNS. If that happens, all you can do is defend yourself. But you have not done anything wrong or criminal here.

Not all women are like this; this is just plain bad luck. However, we can all learn something from this.

I know a similar case .girl father is a lawyer so it doesn’t vosr anything for him. What can be done in these situations? Any lawyer?

This group has become a mess. Atleast post something information what’s with this misinformation.

First thing first anyone can file any case against you, some can be struck down by judges for being absurd, this is democracy.

Secondly, this is fear mongering to collect karma, here bunch of people can’t understand the difference between filing a case and getting convicted , think about it a highly educated system of judicial is not dumb enough to convict you for rejecting a girl . When a judgement is passed it becomes a legal example for next judgement

So, at max even if a judge is bribe they are responsible and they cannot make arbitrary judgements,it needs to be legally valid.

It happens in lot of countries. People due each other for a lot of stuff.
