March 25, 2025 at 7:39 pmSharing our recent experience with a company which tricked us into paying 18 Lakh for a deal which never happened.A few months ago, we came across an enticing advertising of Facebook from sugarprop and, unfortunately, fell into what turned out to be a frustrating journey. We transferred them an advance of βΉ1 lakh to access their documentation. After extensive discussions with their team-specifically Mr. Parbin Singh and sales executive Nainika Singh-we mutually agreed upon the conditions in the master agreement. Before making the master agreement we expressed our unavailability after 4th Oct 2024 and got assurance that registration of the plot will be done as per our availability.
They made us sign a master agreement and took the cheque of 17 lakhs on 1st Oct making an excuse that their CEO Jai Baid is not available and will send me back the signed agreement which they never signed. Despite our clear communications regarding our unavailability post-October 4, 2024, the company continued to shift their timelines, leaving us in the lurch. On 11th Oct they informed us that they completed the registration without us on 9th Oct and promised to return money within 15days. Today after 6month of waiting, it’s now clear that we have been cheated.
We had our moments of doubt trusting an online company, but gave a change to this company founded by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta alumnus. Realised Institutions do not necessarily guarantee integrity.
If there is anyone who can help us.

March 26, 2025 at 4:05 amNot saying you weren’t cheated, but on their website they are clearly selling real estate backed investment options like debentures, not the land itself. I am not sure what your deal was, but looking at the website, I would have expected to receive a fixed return against a land backed loan, not buying the land itself.-

March 26, 2025 at 4:17 amWe paid money for registering part of land in our name.Β We had email and whatsapp communication for the same. But once they tricked us in paying the money before counter-signing on the aggrement.Β Everything went to thin air.Β

March 26, 2025 at 11:40 amHi, practicing High Court Lawyer here!I’m truly sorry to hear what youβve gone through β itβs heartbreaking to see such hard-earned money being mishandled, especially after putting your trust in a company that came across as credible.
From what you’ve shared, there are strong legal grounds to act β including for cheating, breach of trust, and unfair trade practices. Here’s what Iβd suggest as a next step:
1. Send a legal notice to the company and the individuals involved, clearly stating the breach, false assurances, and the unfulfilled refund commitment.
2. If there’s no response, you can file:
* A criminal complaint (for cheating and breach of trust),
* And a consumer complaint (to claim a refund and damages for mental harassment).
3. You may also consider approaching the Cyber Crime Cell or Economic Offences Wing if you suspect a pattern of similar frauds.Feel free to reach out if you need help.

March 26, 2025 at 1:17 pmThank you, I checked with a lawyer. He asked for 1 lakh as fees, which I agreed to but there is no clarity/garauntee that I will 100% get back the money. Don’t want to spend anything more on it.-
