Bike theft advice

Recently,My dad gave his scooty for repair and it has been theft. Then the person from tthe mechanic shop has informed my that the scooty has got theft and asked my father to come along to file a police complaint. Now lately the mechanic is showing less interest in approaching the police station for advice.
Now my question is that:
1.Should we cover for the scooty theft or will it need to given by the mechanic
2.what do i need to do if the mechanic ghosts us completely
3.is there any other consequences that i need to consider

*Valid suggestions are appreciated, attaching a video of the theft.

What are the documents, I need to produce for that..?Do i first need to confirm with the mechanic face to face that i am going file the fir?

Visit police station and file FIR stating mechanic Lost your bike and he is involved. Don’t wait to confront mechanic
