II unknowingly bought a stolen mobile on 21march2023. Police came ON 30th may 2024 , i gave them the stolen mobile and booked me under ipc 356 ipc/379/411/356/34, but no arrest was made.
Now my case hearing is in delhi high court,
I am totlly innocent. I have lost my sleep thinking of worst case scenarios.Can i just come out of all this mess with a fine or something??

SAre bhai tension mat le jyada. Theek hoga. Jaha se phone liya, uska receipt vagera rahega toh dhund. Online kharida hoga toh easy to find. Search for the receipts or the payment screenshot. Since you remember the date, you can easily find the payment via the payment app by searching. Otherwise bank statements might also be helpful. Unless you paid in cash, then receipt is the only thing that can help you.

KYes only compromise…..the owner will have to the judge that he doesn’t want to pursue the case any further and a compromise is made …u will have to give some money to the owner in this process…and secondly 30000Rs mobile is not a low end segment …and thirdly how gullible are you ? To buy a phone without even a receipt..not even a aadhar copy of the previous owner .??

IYes i am at fault here, previously i bought n sale many atleast about 10 midrange phones bcz i wasnt working then, nothing happened,
When i started working bought an expensive mobile s22+( for me it was expensive that launch time)
And then this mess happened affecting my personal/love/mental/financial life all at once.
Not a single night have i slept when the final thought of mind was drowned in all these thoughts.-
KBuddy dnt drain ur self out …or itna kamjor feel mat kar …i was a complainant in one such cases …i withdraw the case on first hearing itself …no one want to get in court kachehri mess ….u gonna be fine …i knw these things are happening fr the first time with u …but yeah experience he to aage chalke tujhe strong banayega …u will better handle urself in future situation…nd these things can happen to anyone anytime. INo, there was a fight btw me n my gf last night when i angrily throw my orginal s22+ mobile and it broke in many many pieces , and the next day impulsively bought a second hand mobile in 15k all bcz of my stupidity,
Now i am sitting at a loss of s22+, (-15k) of stolrn mobile,
gained a police case. Fir, Hearings, lack of peace, mind n Frustration.-
MSo now,
Never agree in police station that you know it was stolen ( which you really didn’t) but they may pressurise. Amd according to the law using or possessing a stolen device is also a crime.Let them know from where you did buy it and payment proof.
If needed bribe them and get your name cleared ( fastest method) otherwise going forward with court case will be lengthy and expensive then bribe

IIts past police now already 1st court hearing is on 27May. Already tried the IO inspector for some favour. He said no, we know u are innocent, the case shall close on the first hearing itself. Told me that The injured party will also comply n stuff…
What astonished me the most is one of my rich friend lost a premium flagship few years aback, nothing was done no result nada.
And i m being dragged for a mere midranger phone.Iknow unknowingly possession of either 1rs or 1cr rs is crime but still….

SHow did you buy OLX ? Any other way your call records can prove it. Just get to police without telling him that you’re going to police. Same thing happened to my friend and he caught him and took him to police station he got off the hook after that

COP, first of all don’t panic, but may I suggest having a good lawyer is something you should consider, there are many people that we know about who got dragged to the depths of false cases and their lives got tarnished for the same. Two points here : considering that police are helping the owner (complainant) to trace a phone to you all the way, points in the direction that he might be somewhat influential. Secondly, these days there are some tensions going on around the country for the tensions of security lapses in the country, you owning a stolen phone can be pushed to a bad thing, I also believe that you are aware of people whose lives got destroyed since they were falsely framed in certain situations!
OP: take this with a pinch of salt and believe that this won’t be blown out of proportions, but if I were you, I would have done my most logical actions at the least, I would have certainly taken legal help from a good lawyer, all the Best OP, may truth prevail
