bought tickets from reseller,now hes refusing to refund

i know i should not have trusted someone online blah blah im aware,So i 18m bought tickets of the travis scott concert from a reseller i met on reddit,because tickets online were sold out and i desperately needed one because im a die hard fan so i had to give in and even tho i did not wanna trust someone on reddit,i had no other option.he was selling i for 10k out of which i paid 6k in advance and rest was to be paid later.Fast forward today, i found out i have a family function around the time of the concert so i wont be able to attend it so i told him this and asked for my money back but hes refusing saying there is no refund

Now can i take legal action?

I don’t think he needs to return it, you wasted his time plus he is in the verge of losing his money.

If you hadn’t committed he might have had other buyers.

To give your money back is his call and since this is unofficial you can’t even claim cheating.

Nope, you committed and back out of an unofficial deal. You can’t do anything take your loss and move on. Unless he is a nice person nothing can be done here.

Resellers won’t give money back that is their whole bread and butter, once you commit you have to go through.

Hi. I’m a lawyer here. Legal action won’t help. You can probably try looking for someone who would be interested in attending the concert and can purchase the tickets from you, if you’re okay to buy them fully and if you’re sure about the authenticity of the deal.

i appreciate the help,now i have contacts in the police and i can get his ip and all tracked but im unsure if i should do it or not cuz as far as ive seen,hes not done something illegal so do you think thats smth i should do

The blah blah part was that don’t buy from resellers because there is no legal way to get that money back
