ASuppose if a person was travelling from Mumbai to Delhi by train, and TTE/TC (Travelling Ticket Examiner/Ticket Collector/Ticket Checker) ask for ticket and ID from a passenger and suddenly he/she assaulting the TTE/TC
1. Can he/she get arrested for assaulting a public servant (police officer, army officer, government employee etc.)?
2. What is the punishment for assaulting a public servant? -
UYes , they can get arrested.
Punishment is 2 years in prison + fine. I searched it on Google.
Also the situation is oddly specific to use suppose and if..so please lay it out for us.

AI had an incident which took place between 4pm and 5:30pm, when I was on my way to Andheri West, I took Churchgate local at Borivali station and I got down at Andheri, and I saw two people (one of them is a resident of Borivali) have assaulted a TC (ticket checker), because he (TC) demanded a ticket from them as they are travelling without ticket and then they assaulting the TC and does gunda gardi to him and also hurling abuses (giving abusive language) to him and when police arrive they took them to the police station (RPF Thana), will these two be punished for assaulting a public servant?

SHe/She can be charged under 333 and 353 IPC (Now BNS’s relavent sections).
No warrant required for arresting also its non bailable.
