March 30, 2025 at 3:55 amI’m in a rented place in mohali, and the construction on the side plot is unbearable—breaker starts at 8 AM, once even at 5 AM. Landlord promised no more early starts, but 8 AM on weekends is killing me. I work corporate, stay up late, and just want peace. Can I complain about this? Anyone know my options? -

March 30, 2025 at 5:08 am– I work in the IT sector and live far from my hometown, which already makes life difficult due to limited family support.
– I bought a two-wheeler three years ago, but I still don’t have my Registration Certificate (RC) because I need to take leave and visit the RTO. There’s no one to guide me or resolve my issues efficiently.
– One day, I had severe back pain and visited a government hospital. The staff didn’t care—I was shuffled from one room to another with no proper treatment or attention.
– When I got married, obtaining a marriage certificate was a nightmare. I had to take four days of leave, travel repeatedly, and each time they demanded a new document. It took four agonizing months to complete the process.
– Applying for my RC manually took an entire year because I live in another state and rent a place, making everything more complicated.
– I can’t even get a gas connection because I live in rented accommodation, leaving me dependent on expensive alternatives.
– Thankfully, I’ve avoided dealing with the police so far, but the fear looms large—if someone files a false case against you, your life could be destroyed just proving your innocence.
– Government offices here are often inefficient, riddled with red tape, and staffed by people who seem indifferent to your struggles.
– Basic infrastructure, like reliable electricity or clean water, is still a luxury in many areas, forcing people to adapt to constant inconvenience.
– Corruption is rampant—you often need to bribe officials or know someone influential just to get simple tasks done.
– Public transportation is overcrowded and unreliable, making daily commuting a stressful ordeal for those without personal vehicles.
– The healthcare system, especially in government facilities, is underfunded and overstretched, leaving patients like me neglected or mistreated.
– Job opportunities may exist, but the work-life balance is poor, and the pressure to constantly prove yourself is exhausting, especially when basic services don’t function smoothly. These are just some of the frustrations I’ve faced. People who dismiss these struggles probably haven’t dealt with the harsh realities of government offices or the systemic issues that make life in India feel like an uphill battle at times.

March 30, 2025 at 6:03 amYou are making a mountain out of a molehill there buddy. Your “what is” are not only ruining your peace of mind but the projection of it on your world view is crazy! You can’t base your life on what ifs and “could’ve would’ve”. Make good choices and hope for the best. That’s all you can and should do, just like the rest of the world! Hope this helps.-

March 30, 2025 at 4:03 amSo tired of this where we live as well. Someone always has work done in their home with constant granite cutting all day everyday. They need to make some rules regarding getting all the cutting done at a workshop but hey this is India. Fml-

March 30, 2025 at 5:47 amEnsure all granite / marble cutting is done at factory or workshop and only sent to location for fitting. No loud noise work to be done during quiet hours (early morning & afternoon). Quiet hours to be decided and agreed by all society members.

March 30, 2025 at 5:59 amYou don’t want them to work in the afternoon? Alright buddy. There are already rules in place. If you see them flouting it, there are legal recourses. Temporary constructions don’t fall under disturbance unless they are doing it past 11 PM and pre 8 AM.
