April 28, 2025 at 2:35 amIs there any grounds for lodging a cybercrime complaint or something against Reddit?New to Reddit and I have found myself getting banned from certain subs for nothing but stating facts. No rules broken whatsoever. Upon asking why I was banned I was insulted by the mods and given no clear justifiable reason. The mods run these subs like their own little fiefdoms and I don’t think this is the manner in which this app was designed to operate.
Also it is a national security threat in my view because young impressionable minds can be brainwashed and radicalised by malicious elements through narrative control and social conditioning.
Do I have grounds for legal action? I am willing to invest both time and money into this.

April 28, 2025 at 2:42 amAs in action will not be taken despite the case having merit or the case has no merit? Did you understand my questionIs restriction of free speech on an online platform grounds for legal action?

April 28, 2025 at 2:46 amCase has no merit unless you can see specific violation of T&C which you accept while signing up to use the platform.-

April 28, 2025 at 2:46 amThanks I will look into this. Basically if mods violate the t&c of the app that is grounds for a case? Sorry for asking the same thing again and again, I just want to make sure this is worth investing time into.-

April 28, 2025 at 2:49 amMods represent Reddit as an entity because they have been given powers by Reddit-

April 28, 2025 at 3:13 amYou can file some action, but the amount of time and money you will spend won’t justify the end result. Also, I am not sure, if you would have a good case to begin with if they show that you violated their T&C. As someone else said, its not worth it.FYI – I have also been banned from some subs. On introspection, I realised that I should not have said what I said. I was always careful about what I say on social media, but I let th emotions get the best of me on one occasion. Now I try not get carried away by my emotions wrt something which some stranger has said on social media. Ignore and move on. I have other stressful things in life and can’t afford to add something so stupid as “ban from reddit sub” to the list of things that stress me.
FYI – I am a lawyer.

April 28, 2025 at 3:19 amYou’re not getting the point bro, I’m not upset about a ban, I couldn’t care lessI’m concerned about what the autocratic way in which this platform is run by hypocrite mods who preach one thing and practice another could mean in a larger context, there’s clearly certain agendas being pushed on certain subs by vested interests and truth is the casualty. I have younger cousins who introduced me to this app and they’re basically on this all day everyday and all their friends are as well.
The whole karma and upvotes and downvotes bullshit acts as a social engineering tool encouraging self censorship. I can’t comment on what you said that got you banned but I am not the type of person to let emotions get the better of me and I would never say anything that I cannot back up with evidence
I come from a lawyer family, I’m the black sheep that decided not to pursue law but obviously when you’re around lawyers 24/7 you can’t help but be a little interested
