I am currently working at a event design company and my friend has a other company in similar field which he just started recently and he is asking me to work as a freelancer for his company and I will be paid for it. My employment contract clearly mentions that I cannot work for any other company while on payroll.

My question is will I get in legal trouble for this ? And to what extent?

Nothing legal, but you’ll lose your job if they find about it.

Do it. I mean what r u worried of? Your friend won’t be deducting pf or anything. There won’t be any official record. Ask him to pay the amount in your non salary account or your parents’ account

Ask your friend not to pay PF and salary to your some other account that belongs to your family member. Companies via BGV checks AIS and UAN history of PF accounts.
