Can Toll Plazas ask for toll if I have fast tag?

Basically the title, nothing happened with me but precautions are better than cure. Can toll plazas ask for toll if I have fastag with balance and if it doesn’t work?

You’ll have to pay somehow. If the fast tag is blacklisted/low balance then you have to pay double via UPI or cash

If their equipment doesn’t work, then you don’t have to pay.

Nope. If their equipment isn’t working, they’ll physically collect money whether cash or UPI. If by any chance, you are the first one in the queue when the damage happens, perhaps they let you go because they don’t want to hold up the line
