Can we give Written Complaint of Domestic Violence outside our native?

So Me and my husband are from north side but staying in South India for work. He slaps me occasionally, pull my hair and come home drunk esply on friday night. I am not working and it is getting toxic for me. I am losing all confidence. I did not tell it to my family members bcz i dont want them to be disturbed. Yesterday night he also slapped me few times just bcz his friends came and i sat with them without dupatta. I think a warning from police may deter him, can i approach local PS in South? will they entertain?

You have to approach the police station and give the complaint. But make that you have been more specific about the facts and dates in the complaint. So the case also gets stronger.

Better to keep someone posted in your family. Don’t panic but take help legally from here and build a strong case with strong proofs.

Yes, you can give a complaint in the jurisdictional Police station based on your current residence. You can request them to give an advice to him.

Slapping or drunken behavior itself amounts to violence. Do not normalize it, fight against it. No human has the right to beat another human being.
