March 25, 2025 at 3:39 pmI am studying in Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, which is an autonomous institution under AICTE and VTU. I am finding it difficult to manage both my studies and job so Iโve decided to just focus on my job and quit my MBA course after 1st sem. When I went and told the same to my college admission staff, they told me that if I want my original documents back, Iโll have to pay the remaining fees for the next 3 semester. AICTE & VTU doesnโt support this practice of holding back documents until the full fee is paid(according to Google). But my admission staff told me that this is an autonomous institution and this is what they follow.I am feeling very stressed out up to the point of harming myself. I cannot fathom to think of paying more than 1.5 lakh for something I wonโt study. Please help me. Anyone. This is my last try, I donโt know what to do. This link directs to their academic regulations(page no. 28 talks about withdrawal regulations)

March 25, 2025 at 3:56 pmNAL. I was doing my masters and withing a month I got a better college so I changed my college. They returned all my documents without any hesitation. They are just trying to milk some money since they cannot fill the seat vacated by you and that will be a loss for them.Talk to some senior guy there, if they aren’t agreeing, hire a lawyer. Being autonomous doesn’t give them the right to f*** up with someone’s life.

March 25, 2025 at 4:07 pmYeah but it does tell in the pdf that Iโll have to pay the remaining tuition fee. How do I argue with that?

March 25, 2025 at 5:48 pmunfortunately this is illegal but widely followed practice all over India. It’s better to apply for duplicate certificate immediately and continue asking documents back from college. Getting duplicate certificate might cost 7-8k and 4-5 months.
