        I am working in a MNC and manager is harassing me to wfo but problem is that we have to book a seat and go, and the booking window opens everyday at a time & all seats are gone in blink of an eye. Almost like redmi flash sales in past and trying to bookeveryday is another hassel.

        So if seats are gone and am not able to what can I do, they should give me WFH. Opening a office in Mumbai with just limited seats and having such a stupid system is so pro harassment of employees.
        Why even open a office or make it mandatory when occupancy is not there, this isn’t a concert who got like everyday to book and also travel this much. Sometimes I may be out, sometimes I’m still traveling during booking window.

        Also I have a ongoing medical issue that I haven’t informed, this is affecting my health too. What to do? Company believes in giving benefits on medical issues but I don’t trust them. They will probably put some false reason too. How else can I deal with these managers?

        I have no problem going every even day as per policy but if I can’t get a seat that’s should be their headache.

          Talk to the manager of your manager (skip level or even higher) about this problem(make sure they are from your city office only. Someone in a different city may not understand the issue). Ask them what step can you take about this. Don’t be confrontational. Ask them for suggestion.

          We also had this issue in 2022. The skip level told us to try coming only once per week or skip it all together, because they knew the state of the seat allocation. Even my skip level manager was ejected from his seat one day when he was not able to book a seat and was sitting in someone else’s seat. ๐Ÿ˜€

              There’s a complete different team looking into space allocation have mailed the guy, gave a very lame textbook answer of high demand low supply. I asked him for suggestions in most sugar coated way possible. They are aware but choose to do nothing.

              My previous manager was chill, he used to approve without asking any questions. The new project managers are scared little cats that Don’t want any responsibility or helo the team. They just are looking to delegate. I maybe stuck in a toxic team this time.

              I don’t know how to deal with the situation in most sugar coated way without lashing out as the stress is really getting to me.

                  Forget the seat allocation guys. Reach out to the manager of the manager who is asking you to come to office. If something is to be done by the seat allocation guys, it will be done only if someone high up asks them to do something specific (like blocking seats for a specific project)

                      Yeah the senior PM told to talk to space allocation team and then he will escalate to HR but I don’t think they will allocate a seat just to me. Bcz I alone am from this specific location, either they will ask me to relocate to the bigger office in nearby city which I won’t since I have Medical dependency here.

                      I’m try to be very professional to them, there’s no one auditing these guys. They are saying stupid things like exceptional is only for medical reasons which I do have but don’t want to disclose.

                      They can easily give exception as my previous manager gave to everyone without asking any questions so it isn’t a big deal but they are making a huge thing about it. What’s the point of even working in such toxic environment where managers are making life hell. Will see how this develops, was looking for smart and legal ways I leverage my rights here.

                        The founder who should have a big “statue” for his great thinking & is in constantly in news for how he expects employees to make India competitive by working all day for pennies.

                            No Accenture is still better, they have big offices here also I think they just implemented hybrid now.

                            I working for a man who needs to have a “statue” for great vision regarding how youth needs to work all day to uplift development of nation for small salary or like charity.
