February 5, 2025 at 3:57 pmGood evening redditors,I (21F) am making this post from my friends account. So I was working in an digital marketing company based in kolkata, i had to undergo two months training with a stipend of 12k after which they would keep me in provision period. I completed my two months training but suddenly I had a severe heart infection and had to be admitted to hospital for 5 days , I am also diagnosed with mixed anxiety and depression and doctor has advised me full bed rest, naturally I had to resign
Now the company told me that they are not going to give me anything , my release letter , stipend , certificate nothing ! As I am not able to serve 20 days notice period
They are threatening me to return the company sim card or they will file police complaint against me .Is there anything I can do in this situation ?

February 5, 2025 at 4:13 pmNAL. Experience letter for just two months is not worth worrying over. Just donβt mention this company in your work experience and throw the SIM card on their face. Health > Everything-

February 5, 2025 at 8:54 pmFor that you can approach the police. Have them contact the owner. Prove that you worked for 2 months and have not received the pay. 50/50 depending on SI

February 5, 2025 at 4:20 pmA full bed rest doesn’t mean you have to resign. You could have opted for sick leave or leave without pay.
You are obligated to return company asset (including sim)
Tell them you are happy to serve the notice period once your bed rest as advised by doctor is over.
You are well within your rights to ask for salary for the days you have worked.

February 5, 2025 at 4:29 pmIf you haven’t resigned yet, then just stall it out. Let them fire you, anyways you are not getting the release letter without a fight. Do mention the details in mail though, that your dr has advised bed rest, and you’ll return once its over (even though you won’t)-

February 5, 2025 at 4:35 pmTell them to send a person who will collect the sim at your house. Ensure all this is done via mail.

February 5, 2025 at 4:31 pmWhat is a release letter? You should simply ask for your stipend for the days you have worked.
And experience letter.
But, considering you have only worked for 2 months and are leaving on a bad note, ideally you should not even mention this place in your resume as you don’t want your future employers to do a back ground verification at this place.

February 5, 2025 at 4:42 pmWithout any condition, a certificate is usually given on any training completion. then it is not formal training.-

OP
February 5, 2025 at 4:50 pmYes they clearly mentioned that after two months training I will be provided with a certificate, and after my training my provision period would start .I have to take a break anyways , it’s just feels frustrating they won’t even compensate me for my nearly three months of work
