April 9, 2025 at 6:11 pmIn 2022, I was involved with a woman I asked to be my girlfriend. I even went to meet her on her birthday, but she seemed unsure and didn’t give a clear yes. After that, I ghosted her for around 20 days. Eventually, I started catching feelings, though I’m still not sure how or why. It was a long-distance relationship since I’m serving in the Indian Army. Our dynamic was on and off. I genuinely liked her at times but wasn’t certain about a long-term future. Despite that, I told her “I love you,” which I now regret, and we had regular sexting. She was a good person, and I once visited her at her home, where her mother cooked for me. We had our first sexual encounter that day, and I said “I love you” even after that.
However, I eventually ghosted her again and later made it clear that I didn’t see a future with her. If I’m honest, I realize now that I was more interested in the physical aspect of the relationship. She was always willing to engage, including sexually, but now the situation has turned messy.
She’s reached out to my elder sister who is 40 year old, is extremely distressed,as she keeps sending screenshots of our sexting and other details, and has threatened to contact my father. She’s even said she’ll come to our home in Chandigarh and file a legal notice for giving her false hope of marriage. Although she initially forgave me, she is now demanding that either my family apologizes to her, or she’ll pursue legal action.
She’s cursing my entire family, seems emboldened—perhaps due to her job—and is openly vowing to create a scene. She insists she’ll only back off if my father touches her feet in apology.
I want to know how bad is the situation for me

I would suggest you should talk to your elder sister first (Reason – she is aware of it) and then see if it is okay to let your father know about the situation and then see what legal action you guys can take in order to protect yourself.Do not get yourself involved in legal trouble. Better to apologize than to face legal issues.

April 9, 2025 at 6:31 pmPretty bad.
You had sexual relationship with a girl who wanted to have a long term future with you. That’s having sexual intercourse on pretext of marriage, called as r*pe. Since it happened/started 2 years ago, IPC will apply (depends on the case she makes). Section 376.BNS has made it more clear with such kind of things. Sex on pretext of marriage or any other benefit, and has a separate (but lower) sentence for such case.
Although you seemed to focus only on the physical part. But she has screenshots of your chatting, and her dedication towards your relationship will show, and will also put you in bad light. And that is enough to prove your case.
So, I’ll suggest you to try to get out of the legal message, and manage it outside of purview of law. Basically meeting her demands of an apology, etc.
