It depends – you need to provide more context on the chain of events.
Ok – so created a document for your colleague to claim political contribution when filing their return.
1. How did your company find out about it?
2. Did you use company time and resources to create that document?
3. Does it harm company in any fashion?
4. How is your relationship with management chain, can someone vouch for you and protect you?
Broadly speaking
The Best case scenario – you apologize sincerely, they file the incident in HR files, warn you to not do something like this and the let it go.
The worst case scenario – you lose your job, you will go out with a big lesson – which is don’t do shit like this for weak people who might flip on you.

SIf you are valuable to the company and if your manager vouches for you then the HRs will not trouble you much. Only thing that can save you is your work and manager so go and suck up to your manager

SWell i have an idea. But it requires line of morality shifted a bit. Change thr tone to how your friend could have saved tax, and show that document that you have sent was merely an example.
Convo should look something like this..
1. Your friends asks you how to save tax
2. You suggests donation to political party.
3. Your friend asks how it works for him
4. Some point in convo you tell him that he would get a receipt like this that needs to be uploaded in office.It’s a long shot, but play of words like this can save you, as everything else doesn’t seem to be.

RI don’t know if I understood clearly – did you get caught faking documents for your submissions too? Or were you accused of forging documents only for that colleague?
If you did not commit any forgery for your submissions then why worry?
It is your colleague’s responsibility to submit accurate document and only your colleague is accountable for mistakes in his claims. If tomorrow you show HR an agreement (you faked) that shows his salary will be transferred to your bank account, will the company blindly follow without asking your colleague?

RWhich company considers section 80ggc receipts from their employees, never seen it as part of my form 16. I doubt if this section is even applicable for employers. Political donations are supposed to be declared in ITR.

rule 2. never accept any wrongdoing without your lawyer presentthey couldn’t do anything if you didn’t accept. a compliance team isn’t even quasi-legal.
however, this is not a complete picture, i don’t know what documentation you faked, and which compliance team caught him, and what did he say. however, there is still a loophole tho. what you have said isn’t legally binding. you can always claim that you accepted because you were being threatened. but it depends on your friend actually. what he said, and what he signed to
