May 7, 2025 at 8:38 amIs there any policy of Croma stores that they can’t replace the item purchased after 24 hours or after it leaves the store?I bought a MacBook from there and it seems to have a manufacturing defect (In a key)
Contacted the Apple support they asked me to contact the seller for replacement and the seller Croma is telling me that they can’t do anything after the product has left the store. What kind of policy is this ? So even if a customer missed something in the store and came back home and found some defect after 24 hours he is not well within his rights to ask for a replacement?
Can anything be done about this? How do I get it replaced ?

May 7, 2025 at 8:44 amDid you not have the product opened and checked while purchasing it at the store?-

May 7, 2025 at 8:52 amAllright. Did you open it and check it before the delivery person? At the very least, did you make a video while unboxing it?-

May 7, 2025 at 8:55 amYes I have the video. I didn’t open it in front of the delivery guy just confirmed the serial number
How does that matter ?-

May 7, 2025 at 8:55 amDon’t all the electronic products have 14 days replacement policy by law ? Or atleast 7.
WTF is this 24 hour policy -

May 7, 2025 at 9:08 amIt matters because if the fault is not shown to them while opening the product, then they throw it on you as if you damaged the product.-

May 7, 2025 at 9:11 amFirst, it’s a kind of defect I can’t do even if I wanted to
Second, it doesn’t matter if I opened it in front of them or not… if it has a defect then it’s defective and it should be replaced if I’m asking within 7 or 14 days
I don’t understand this policy if you left the store it’s not our responsibility.Any advice from a lawyer would be helpful about what can be done
It’s just the 3rd day since purchase-

May 7, 2025 at 9:16 amI am a lawyer here. I’m asking you all these questions as these are the possible defences they would take to evade responsibility on this aspect.-

May 7, 2025 at 9:27 amThey didn’t tell me anything of this sort when I denied to open it in the store, that tomorrow onwards they won’t replace if any damage occurred. Nothing is written on the bill of this sort.Only on their website that too very ambiguous and as a precaution (to check on the store)
Other than that it’s written that they will take it to the service centre and if the brand agrees for a replacement then they will do it
But the store manager told me after 24 hours nothing can be done you go to the service centre-

May 7, 2025 at 11:47 amYou denied opening it at the store? You said it was delivered the next day. Not sure what the correct facts are.-

May 7, 2025 at 10:52 amLawyer here.– Croma Policy provides a 7 Day Return/Replacement window. [https://www.croma.com/cancellation-and-return](https://www.croma.com/cancellation-and-return)
– Thereafter, Return/Replacement is based on the Policy of the Company manufacturing the product (viz. Apple, in your case).

May 7, 2025 at 11:36 amWent to the service centre they said it’s a cosmetic mark/ scratch, doesn’t come under a defect so difficult to replace-

May 7, 2025 at 11:40 amAsk them to say so in writing.– In case they don’t, send them an Email/Letter detailing all your issues and the fact it was found to be cosmetic mark/scratch and you deny the same.
– Send a Legal Notice thereafter to Croma.
– Failing which, approach Apple. Send them an Email/Letter, then Legal Notice
– File a Consumer Complaint after that.

May 7, 2025 at 11:45 amThey are giving me a report in which they state it’s a wear and tear/ cosmetic mark… it doesn’t come under warranty so nothing can be done.-

May 7, 2025 at 11:53 am– Is it a Cosmetic Mark?– How is this related to Warranty? Warranty is a different matter and becomes relevant after the Return/Replacement Window ends.

OP
May 7, 2025 at 11:55 amIt doesn’t look like a cosmetic mark, more like the key assembly wasn’t properly done and it’s out of shape from one corner.According to them this isn’t covered even in warranty so as a service centre they can’t do anything
