Hello guys my father has imitated a divorce after 25 years of failed marriage and separation with my mother?

We want to pursue the alimony route as for whole of my life, this man never spent an ounce on my upbringing and my mother has done it all alone, hence we don’t want a normal divorce. This man did 2 marriages couldn’t sustain even 1 and has remained free of any responsibility throughout his life.

I would like to get some guidance regarding dew doubts –

1) What’s the total expense that we would have to bear for this alimony and divorce process?

2) Should we pay a lawyer lump sum for whole case or some rate per hearing?

3) How much alimony is reasonable and should be expected? How to navigate this?

3) Any recommendations of lawyers in delhi?

Hi lawyer from delhi here!

If it is a mutual divorce then you can go for a one time settlement.

If not then first file maintenance petition in the trial court.

Then when divorce is filed, file section 24 application and get handsome maintenance and then file section 25 application claiming hefty alimony and in this case you’ll get a handsome alimony.
