April 21, 2025 at 10:15 amBasically my parents got my passport made with OG Birth Certificate (20/10/1997) when i was 4 years old and then got a new birth certificate created for my school admission with dob (20/09/1997) which only had the month difference. All my documents, aadhaar, pan, bank account details have 20/09/1997 and only passport has 20/10/1997. They did this to my brother as well and he was rejected straight in the face that no this can’t be changed and renewed his passport for his original dob and now he can’t study abroad and I applied and have been asked to go to the head office but I’m scared because I feel like we both won’t be able to get it sorted and these officials only take money under the table and then get these things done but ykw, I don’t have this much money on me. A lot of passport agents have fooled my folks in the name of dob change and not helped them 1%, have instead taken money and ran away. It’s so risky here like they just tell you to fuck off in the face and then you’re hopeless. IDK what to do. -

April 21, 2025 at 10:34 amI did that, but most of them have denied. Letโs see. Mostly all passport agents (informally) are asking for 2lakhs-3lakhs. I have to go to the head office on 2nd May, Iโm hoping for the best.-

April 21, 2025 at 10:42 amWho denied it? What passport agents? Who is asking you 2-3 lakhs for such a thing? Are you using a local agency for this? The passport renewal form on passport seva website has an option in โreasons for renewalโ for credential change iirc, you can have it done yourself.-

April 21, 2025 at 10:54 amMy father has been trying for 10 years and has had no success so far. This time i took the case in my hand and reached out to a lot of friends who had some hacks (passport agents) and all asked for crazy amounts of money. My brother tried the official route and was denied the same and was told to fuck off from the head office.

April 21, 2025 at 10:50 am2lakhs? what kind of agent is he. Just do it yourself and feed the police 500-2000. this should be sorted. Place of birth doesn’t change but DOB can be. or find a better agent that should just charge 4000-5000 max to get your file approved from police backend if it stucks. rest shouldn’t even take time. Police verification is the biggest blocker in the passport process.-

April 21, 2025 at 3:06 pmPlease refer to FAQs on passport seva website, where it is mentioned that PoB and DoB change is not guaranteed and depends on the circumstances,
In your case your parents have got birth registered with the municipality on 2 occasion i.e. one you were born in October and once in September which technically is not possible, so your date of birth change in passport is next to impossible.-

April 22, 2025 at 6:34 amI don’t think it’s impossible. One of my cousins did it officially and only paid the lawyer 15k for the court order. ๐ It is possible, which is why I’m here asking for advice and not a dead end reply.-

April 22, 2025 at 6:49 amSo you already knew that a lawyer will cost 15k and will get your job done then why even look for agents who are asking 1-2 lakhs ?-

April 22, 2025 at 6:59 amBecause that happened years ago, and my real brother went and was told that it can’t be done. When that happened, we reached out to people the unofficial way. Lol Idk why you didn’t read the whole thing. Are you a little off in the head? I am here asking people if they’ve faced anything similar so I can be prepared better!

April 22, 2025 at 7:02 amPlease read my reply also, where I explained that you have 2 birth registrations employing that you were born on 2 occasions which is technically not possible, so you need to correct that first only then you can think to proceed further. -
