Downstairs Neighbor’s Tuition Center Causing Lift Issues and High Bills – What Can I Do?

My downstairs neighbor has been running an unofficial tuition center, which I didn’t mind initially. However, over the past years, it has caused several issues. The lift in our building, which has four floors and is privately owned, has been breaking down frequently—almost five times a month. Additionally, our maintenance costs and electricity bills have risen significantly.

While the neighbor does pay the standard maintenance and monthly bills, the students and visitors coming for tuitions are also using the lift extensively. This increased usage has contributed to the frequent breakdowns and higher costs. Despite this, the neighbor has not contributed proportionately to the additional consumption caused by their tuition center.

What action can I take in this situation? Is it possible to file an official complaint, and if so, with whom?

Try talking about this with the tution owner, try to make him aware of the problems you are facing and if you got any solutions, then pls discuss them with him. solutions must be in favour of both of you..

Have discussed this multiple times and everytime they say we would stop it. It stops for a bit but happens again

How many flats use the lift and how many kids do they tutor that it’s causing lift to malfunction

Us all 4 floors use it. And the kids in numbers are around 40-50 with the parents of the kids using the lift as well
