My sister has been going through a divorce and we had hired a lawyer to sort this out. It has been so far almost two years. We are not trying to settle this through mutual. We are seeking justice for the abuse imposed on my sister. But our lawyer has been spamming us a lot. He has been giving reasons and taking multiple dates. And now we were supposed to submit evidence. But there has been mishaps and the court is telling it’s nil to submit. Please suggest what could be done. We also have a vague doubt that my sister’s husband has bought our lawyer and that’s why he’s been spamming.

Sounds like your lawyer is either stalling or something’s off. Might be a good idea to consult another lawyer and see if you’re being misled. If things feel shady, you can report them to the Bar Council. Since the court isn’t accepting evidence now, check if there’s a way to appeal or fix the submission issue. If you genuinely suspect foul play, don’t wait—gather proof and act fast. A good lawyer should be fighting for you, not dragging things out.

Try mutual consent divorce with zero alimony and zero maintenance.
