Drink and Drive. Need Help

So, this happened a few days ago when my friend was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. He went to the police station the next day, paid the fine (an online challan of ₹10,000), and retrieved his bike keys. However, he had to submit his driving license, and the police told him to collect it from the RTO after 15 days.

1. Will this affect his visa?
2. Will this come up in a background verification for jobs?

If he did not have to go to court, probably not. Contact a lawyer if they can pull the records on what he was charged with and if it’s in police records.

This same activity is a crime, a punishable offence which includes a prison term in the US. Search for DUI. It will definitely come on his visa bgc. I don’t think it will be a problem for Indian employers
