February 17, 2025 at 11:35 amMy friend was caught drunk and Driving in Bengaluru, he was issued a Virtual Court Challan by the Police and he have realised my mistake and paid the same. His license was taken by police and they said they will send it to my Home RTP UP14. How can will he get his license back and will this cause any issues in future job and visa prospect? -

February 17, 2025 at 2:57 pmSo, a routine challan u/ S185 MVA.
The traffic police order does not mention the DL suspension period (usually, there is a 3-6 month suspension)? You can confirm with the Bengaluru Traffic Police about the physical copy or if all details would be sent to the RTO (usually they are, but it doesnβt hurt to check).
UP14 RTO will have their own formalities, and proof of challan payment is important, so make sure to keep it safe.—
Disclosure is the main concern regarding this conviction, which would be classified as a petty offence but could hamper relevant jobs (I have seen issues with pilot licences and government jobs in railways or transport).
Visa applications are the same, and it depends highly on the discretion of the visa officer, especially in the case of Canada (which may cause higher surety). The USA visa might also require an extra interview and stricter scrutiny.
