Short and simple. The Employee is now asked to leave by giving notice as per his appointment letter. But he is also a Director(non member). There are two directors in the company and one of the directors is based out of India and is a foreign director. The company is a subsidiary of a foreign company. He was appointed a Director to step up in place of ex directors who resigned in quick succession due to actions brought by enforcement agencies and was as such a Director of convenience( not in the eyes of law though). The company is a regulated industry.
Can the Director be removed without paying any compensation?
Should the employee accept whatever petty severance is being offered or should resist his resignation as a Director?
