M 27, a professional from a reputed family from south india. I was in a long distance relationship with a 21 year old few weeks back. We were going strong, had few makeouts but nothing amounting to penetrative sex. But later, she started becoming over concerned about me and started acting weird and obsessed, so much that I had to ask for a breakup.
She never complied to that, and I had to block her on social media. But she started harassing me with multiple new numbers and social media that I had to unblock her. I told my concerns but she isn’t ready to accept any of it.
She now says she ll use the legal routes to make sure I ll be the one who ll marry her and is pretty adamant on that. Although I wanted a life with her before, I don’t want to after experiencing how bad it can be. But i m concerned about the legal aspects of the makeouts we had or the promises I once gave.

Are there any legal grounds to these?
How can I safely deal with these, legally if needed.

Did you give her the promise of marriage?

Not a promise per se. But we have talked about those in the early days of relationship

A promise of marriage in itself doesn’t amount to anything without sex. That said envisioning life together is different from a promise just for sake of sex.

Unfortunately if she decides to ruin your life, she will. She can file a false rape case and make you roam courts while she never attends them. Look up the case about that Punjabi girl who ruined life of an upcoming singer (I think).

This is why Indian law is stupid. The system is so corrupt, and honestly there’s no ethics left in Indian system.

Solution is simple actually: do not register a case without proof. In western countries, Police will look at evidence before registering a case.

Well all depends on her moral compass. Being honest there are way too many fake cases anyways. If she wants to create a ruckus, you will get one. What holds true is that power dynamics is in her favour and you hold none of it all together. Pray to whatever gods you believe in because if she wants to create legal grounds, she will.

hello, you get married soon, if are true on your words, the irrrant will dissappear from your life. in these types of cases, many times, it happens that one party starts hallucinating too much and daydreaming, while when the reality which is far behind confronts the same party, he or she goes berserk. a proper court will never proceed with such cases on baseless grounds. however, in india, there are many crooked judges who will try to abuse such cases to earn black money.

hence as far as this matter, it is best for you to get married, of course, not in hurry. but once it is so, your ex will sure lose much of her enthusiasm to go against you. upon it, she will also quickly learn that working for a new relationship will be her best interest, rather wasting time.

She looks too dangerous at 21. Am afraid what would happen in coming days. Just see if she has support of family/elders to file cases else she is just scaring u to get in control.
