March 22, 2025 at 9:14 amAn escort service scammer is trying to extort money out of me.I was browsing the internet and came across this ad for escort services in Pune.
I got curious and clicked on it.
It redirected me to a WhatsApp chat.
I got more curious.
The pimp responded within a minute and asked basic questions like hotel/home, location and asked me to share my current location.
I shared my locality in text. He then shared the charges and sent a PDF of the (supposed) escort’s photos. The PDF didn’t have any lewd photos.
I immediately blocked his contact.
Now he’s calling me from multiple phone numbers and asking me for payment.
He argues that I asked for photos (which I didn’t, he sent them himself), so I need to pay him. He then claims that his escort will go to police and say that I used her and didn’t pay. He also claims to leak my personal information online. I don’t think he has any information on me other than my contact number and full name, the later I think he got from putting my number on Google Pay.
I refused to pay any money and when he said that he’ll leak it and tell my family, I told him to go ahead.
I have raised a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in and when he called again from a different number, told him that I’ve filed a complaint against you. He got mad and said that he’ll show me. He has no information on me accept my phone number and name. This is a lesson for me.
The incident took place in Hinjewadi Pune, on 21 March. I filed the complaint on same day when I received a second threatening call.
What can he do next? What should I do next?
Serious replies only please. -

March 22, 2025 at 9:58 amShould I really block him? So far, I pick up his calls, tell him to do whatever he wants to, cussed him and told him I’ve filed a complaint and an agent is personally looking into this. I’d rather just tell him to F off than ignore his calls like a wimp-

March 22, 2025 at 10:17 amDon’t pick up such calls. They add on WhatsApp and find out your UPI address & full name. That’s all they know. There are many such scammers on dating apps. They put pretty girl pictures. Their only motive is scamming people. -

March 22, 2025 at 10:31 pmWhy aggravate a situation? Just to feel manly while shouting at this guy? Just block all his numbers and be on your way. Report his calls as spam, block them on Google phone app, then report and block on Truecaller and WhatsApp. You’re done. Don’t waste your time just for kicks.-
