Note : Please don’t judge me too harshly. Making long story short – I brought unauthorised material to the school exam hall. I did not cheat but I understand that bringing material that could help me cheat is just as wrong.

        1. Now, when I was caught, a teacher walked me to the principals office, and due to stress I felt dizzy. To gain my balance I leaned with my back to the wall and the woman thought I was acting to get out of trouble. (Which I do not blame her for thinking so), but she started berating me loudly to get up by myself and stop the drama. She then proceeded to tell the staffroom teachers about what a good actress I am and playing the sympathy card.

        2. As soon as I stepped into the office, the principal (yelled) at me, “I will slap you across the face”. I wasn’t even allowed to speak word. When –

        3. My parents were summoned and made to write an apology to the principal for my behaviour.

I get that I made a huge mistake. But all of this spread like wildfire and rumours started circulating about me that I was caught cheating with chits (I wasn’t) and that I fainted (I didn’t) infront of the teachers to get out of trouble. Is there any way I can approach this situation in a reasonable manner? Can I file a plea for a retest? Is the way the principal approached the situation justified?

Ps – Previously other students of my grade have also been caught with phones during exams. But none of them faced such disproportionate consequences and were let go easy with a simple apology note written by they themselves.

Changed behavior is the best apology. Accept the punishment, move on, don’t do it again. Work hard and score well without cheating.

This new gen complains about humiliation in school because of their own mistakes… Back in my school days humiliation was teacher whooping our aas, then principal whooping our aas.. and then parents whooping our aas on the same day same place in front of everyone..and yet we walked out laughing ๐Ÿ˜‚

Why are you thinking about it too much. Nobody’s gonna remember.

You must have had a cute little group of friends and support system back then. I know from your pov this thing feels trivial. But people are actually cutting me off and making up rumours which will only get worse from here. I only want to do the right thing from here onwards. According to you I shouldn’t think about it?

They’ll forget..just act normal. It will take few days. If anyone brings up the topic tell them the truth and say teachers added spices to the story
