April 10, 2025 at 9:31 pmThis is not the first he hit my mom. This is his second marriage. He used to beat his first wife too.Today, I tried to stop him. I pinned him to the ground and sat on him. There was a lot of yelling and shouting. I told him, that me and my mom will file a police complaint against him.
I went out for a few hours, he attempted a suicide. He wrote a Facebook post saying that I was being violent towards him. And he is not able to bear the violence and hence wants to end his life.
Currently he is in ICU. He is going to survive. He is safe.
How do I proceed from here? I asked my mom if she wants to file a domestic violence case against him in the police station and she said yes. There was no proof and evidence of anything that happened.
I am worried he might attempt suicide a second time and might succeed.

April 10, 2025 at 9:57 pmDon’t worry bro, a women’s complaint can be accepted without any proof. Go ahead and do your thing.-

April 11, 2025 at 3:24 amGet a good lawyer. Attempting suicide is a crime. Aiding and abetting suicide is also a crime. Your dad definitely needs therapy. See if the hospital can provide it once he’s better. Get their report and show that dad has issues.Best wishes

April 11, 2025 at 4:13 amBlaming you for his violent behaviour is the narcissist trend. Ask your mom to file a domestic violence case in the police station. In the statement mention about this incident and Facebook post also. If you or your mother got any physical hurt, go to the hospital and register a Medico Legal Case. This would help later. If you are not filing a case right away, record his violent behaviour and save it.

April 11, 2025 at 8:48 pmExactly.. I was about to state the same. Narcissists abuse and beat others but ACT LIKE A VICTIM always in front of family and society!!.. Op start recording the abuse and his verbal outbursts with hidden camera. If he files any case on you or your mother, you will have the ACTUAL PROOF OF WHO IS THE ABUSER!!Learn about narcissistic abuse and reactive abuse. The narcissists almost always are aggressive and might beat and do physical assaults (You will get to know if your father is that or similar cluster B disorder related person if you read up on narcissism, BPD, and antisocial personality disorders online on πYouTube, quora, and reditt π).
Protect your mother and yourself (Are you a son or daughter?).

April 11, 2025 at 8:01 amWhy are you being the hero? Let your mother file the complaint. Let her get counselling and let her decide the boundaries, let her file or live in that situation. All you do is help your mother get advice for the above scenarios. If not You are doing mental harm to yourself. Don’t get involved in marital affairs of even your parents. I have been in this situation and counselling Greatly helps everyone. Keep this up you will have problems/headaches you never wished to have.-

April 11, 2025 at 8:57 pmRight direction but any child would want to protect his/her parent from the abuser parent. Nothing wrong in that. But, ultimately the mother here should file the complaint.
