Female friend getting creepy messages from random dudes

So my friend F27 is suddenly getting creepy texts from random dudes on WhatsApp. She threatened to file a complaint, so one of the dudes gave a telegram id. The person operating that telegram id is pretending to be the husband of my friend. That person is giving away my friend’s phone number to random people saying that you can text my wife for pictures.

What can we do to stop this?

If this started recently then she might have tried any new apps with contact permissions like loan apps,

If not then someone might shared her details so she will be getting the messages, thumb rule block the contact if it looks spam and move on. Otherwise they do more and more with new ids.

Failing a complaint is nice but every now and then one will do the messages so can’t keep filing cases for random people.

Example: Women entrepreneurs with their whatsapp accounts will receive N numbers such things but they have to block them and move on their business not giving time to such messages otherwise we lose our peace of mind.

If it’s telegram there is nothing cyber department can do. Better complain telegram as they are responsive to this type of actions

You can file a cyber complaint, it is most likely that it is a guy she dated or turned down. Some dude who can’t process rejection, happened to me once, hope yours get sorted soon.

In my case I ended up changing my number since even though the original ID that was spreading my number got deleted the damage was already done.
