January 12, 2025 at 11:17 amThree days ago, I sent an email to my manager regarding an inappropriate incident at the workplace. After joining the office, a few days later, one of my colleagues started calling me “Gandhi” because my appearance resembled Gandhi. This was because I had shaved my head after my grandfather passed away.
Gradually, a few others started calling me “Gandhi” and using slangs to tease me. This has been happening for the past 3โ4 months. However, I never complained to my supervisor, even though they had previously told me to approach them if I ever felt humiliated. I tolerated this behavior, thinking about their jobs and avoiding any conflicts.
Despite my silence, the harassment continued. One day, one of my team members made caste-based remarks, saying things like, “Your caste does haircuts in Bihar,” in front of everyone. I tolerated this again, even though it was deeply humiliating.
The situation escalated when I accompanied them to the ground floor of the office premises. I asked a random question about their current job roles, and in response, one of them hit me in a sensitive area. After this incident, I felt extreme pain and emotional distress.
I returned to my room and immediately filed a complaint with my manager. The next day, HR arranged a meeting to address the issue. I shared the entire story, and HR successfully filed a grievance against the individuals involved.
So in this Case what Acts will impose on them or there are any chance they can defend it. They are from the gender.

January 12, 2025 at 1:08 pmBecause clearly what you mentioned does not fall under POSH. And what’s about the gender thing, be clear about it. “They are from gender” this conveys nothing. So please write specifically whether it’s male, female or whatever it is.-

January 12, 2025 at 1:16 pmIf you are a male then how an Act meant for women will be applicable to you. From the incident reference i may guess you are from nai Community which falls under OBC so you are not protected by SC/ST act 1989 also.-

January 12, 2025 at 1:48 pmIt’s literally called “The Sexual Harassment of
Women at Workplace
(Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013”. And act in discussion is not a sexual harassment by any definition. Not getting into the morality but just limiting myself on the applicability of POSH, NAL.

January 12, 2025 at 11:48 amDoes your office have CCTV? Make sure to ask for footage. It will help your case. Also by keeping quiet you enabled the abuse. Abuse should be reported immediately. -
