HI recently searched my name on Google and found a **2019 university result PDF** from a **Tamil Nadu university** that includes my full name and my father’s full name. I have never studied there. I have the PDF, which contains a **register number and roll number**.
Could this be a case of impersonation? What steps should I take to address this? Looking for legal advice on how to proceed.

SApart from names any other information? Like picture, signature, adress etc.. You can’t sue someone cuz of a name alone. There should be clear information that points towards you.

HIt is odd because my father’s name consists of a first name, a middle name, a last name, and an initial, and it is exactly the same.

Mok so the odds are maybe low for his father’s name consist same first name, a middle name, a last name, and an initial but not zero. So you can’t do anything unless your any unique id, number is there. The most you can do is you can file a case against them(or maybe ask them first), asking for details of that student from that university. so if they prove that someone else with same details is there you can’t do anything if not then your lawyer will Handle the rest.

HMost likely that it is a coincidence. India has a huge population and it is unlikely that someone is impersonating you for a university degree. Why would someone even do that?

HI don’t think it is a coincidence to use my name and my father’s full name, which consists of three names with initials.

HIs there any reason to impersonate you? There are many people who have same names (including father’s name). It is not something uncommon.

SI googled my name and found a person 13 years older than me with the same name and father’s name. So this is a coincidence that happens more than you realise and it’s not impersonation.

SProbably in your case the father-son duo name isn’t that common. Mine was the 5th result on a full name google search

UWhen I was in school, there was a girl with same name, same father’s AND mother’s name as me, and had birthday one day after me. It was very weirdly coincidental.

HSo what? What does that have to do with my case? Just because you came across someone with the same name as yours doesn’t mean my situation is just a coincidence.

HI never said there can’t be any coincidences in a population of 1.4 billion, but not in my case. I’m tired of arguing with people like you. You don’t even know what the name is, yet you keep insisting it’s a coincidence.
