April 2, 2025 at 10:16 amWe’re in Bangalore. A friend (19f) of mine (let’s call her X) is from Assam. X has a friend, Y (19-20f), who needed ₹24,000 for an aviation exam but either didn’t have it or couldn’t afford it, I’m not sure.On Sunday, X called me, asking if I could contribute. She said she had already collected ₹19,000 from her friends. I didn’t have money at the time, so I couldn’t help. She also mentioned that Y had promised to return the money the same night. However, Y has now blocked X and her friends everywhere.
Y no longer lives in Assam; she has moved to Kolkata with her mother and studies at Amity University. Last night, X reached out to Y’s mother, who was in tears, saying that Y had attempted suicide and was in the hospital. Later, Y’s mother blocked X. Now, whoever tries to call Y gets blocked.
There’s another person, Z, who was friends with Y. Y scammed him out of another ₹24,000, telling him that X needed it for HER education. Now, Z is demanding his money back and is threatening X, saying he will go to her house in Assam with the police. The problem is that only her mother is home, and she has no idea about any of this. X’s father isn’t living at home at the moment. X is afraid to tell her mother because she’s unwell, and the stress might cause her to have tremors.
We have advised X to file a police complaint, but she’s scared and is instead trying to gather money to repay Z, as he needs it to discharge a relative from the hospital tomorrow.
We know Y’s full name, her phone number, her mother’s phone number, and where she lives. Any advice? It’s urgent.

April 2, 2025 at 11:26 amExplain what’s happening to Z and see if that helps. I think he might just be trying to scare your friend to get his money back. X should keep her mother informed for no unexpected stress in case Z comes to her place. -

April 2, 2025 at 1:07 pmHow did X pay to Y? Gpay, BankTrasfer?, if there is any prof of transaction that might help a bit. Try lodging a complaint with that. And, ask X to not worry about Z. She need not have to pay a dime as she hasn’t taken any money from Z. Ask X to lodge case against Z for harassment if Z is threatening, record calls etc. Z have no case against X here, ask him to go collect from Y.
