USo to keep things short , I found a guy who was willing to sell his coldplay tickets for a cheap price…being a good frnd i informed my frnd about this and she agreed to buy 4 off him , she sent me the money and I sent it to him. He sent us 4 tickets which apparently turned out to be fake. I tried calling the bank to reverse the transaction which was not possible so I told her I’ll go to the police and file a complaint.
Now it’s been more than 4 months i think and she is basically threatening me tht I need to pay her back or she will go to the police.
What can be done also am I liable for this? -

UI did they didn’t file a complaint but told me they will look into it , i share the transaction details with them and with her too

SShe can file a complaint against you under BNS section 318 previously 420.
You should file the complaint and when she files complaint against you then your previously filed complaint will be 1 little help.
Best option for you is file a complaint first and then workout some sort of return payment plan to your friend & then return that money. If in future your complaint gets resolved you will get your money return or not.Also, next time do not try to be a messiah.

UI have , the guy seemed legit , I have even told her ki kuch hua toh merepe nhi ana chahiye, she was okay with it until a few months ago when she changed her mind and apparently it was my fault

It will come under criminal breach of trust if she decides to take the legal way…..
Additionally can you tell me the amount and also how you paid the scammer…. Also in how many days you complain to the bank when you find out it’s fake-
UIt was around 40k ish as much as I remember, i made the call to the bank the same day and spoke to a police officer frnd in a week

RThen the bank should have taken an action as the rule says if you report any fraudulent transaction in 3 days then bank is liable to pay it

GWhy did you get involved? You should have shared the guy’s number to your friend and let them do the deal. Why get involved and dig your own grave.

FYour friend can file a police complaint against you. Lawyer up and stop all communication with your friend. In turn you should also file a complaint against the “scammer”.

UBro you act as broker and pocketed part of your friends money , your fucked. The best course of action is to file a police complaint stating that YOU got scammed by this fake seller, and act like the victim just live and say to your friend that I was also the one who got scammed. And say that the fake seller said legitimate things I didn’t doubt anything and I say give the information of the seller to you but you insisted me to buy from him
