February 3, 2025 at 3:24 amSo to keep things short , I found a guy who was willing to sell his coldplay tickets for a cheap price…being a good frnd i informed my frnd about this and she agreed to buy 4 off him , she sent me the money and I sent it to him. He sent us 4 tickets which apparently turned out to be fake. I tried calling the bank to reverse the transaction which was not possible so I told her I’ll go to the police and file a complaint.
Now it’s been more than 4 months i think and she is basically threatening me tht I need to pay her back or she will go to the police.
What can be done also am I liable for this? -

February 3, 2025 at 3:56 amYou shouldn’t have accepted your friends money. Hard lesson if learnt. The best thing will be to borrow money from your parents and return it to your friend. -

February 3, 2025 at 4:24 amJab ye sab dalalgiri karta hai toh let them know explicitly ki there’s no guarantees and you don’t know the seller personally. Aise dikhawa karne ke chakkar me ab you’ll have to pay her.

February 3, 2025 at 3:57 amShe can file a complaint against you under BNS section 318 previously 420.
You should file the complaint and when she files complaint against you then your previously filed complaint will be 1 little help.
Best option for you is file a complaint first and then workout some sort of return payment plan to your friend & then return that money. If in future your complaint gets resolved you will get your money return or not. Also, next time do not try to be a messiah.

February 3, 2025 at 3:57 amThen the bank should have taken an action as the rule says if you report any fraudulent transaction in 3 days then bank is liable to pay it-

February 3, 2025 at 3:55 amWhy did you get involved? You should have shared the guy’s number to your friend and let them do the deal. Why get involved and dig your own grave.-

OP
February 3, 2025 at 3:57 amThat’s where i messed up, she didn’t ask me for his number and directly told me they she is gpaying me and for me to buy it , i should have given the number only-

February 3, 2025 at 4:12 amIn this case. You need to take legal action against that guy asap. Otherwise all blame will fall on you. Inform your parents too.

February 3, 2025 at 4:09 amYour friend can file a police complaint against you. Lawyer up and stop all communication with your friend. In turn you should also file a complaint against the “scammer”.-

February 3, 2025 at 4:13 amYou fucked up. If she really approaches the cops, you will be in trouble as the cops can easily track you down, they cannot track down the scammer.I would suggest settle it out with your friend, this is clearly your mistake. You fell for a scam and lost your friendβs money

February 3, 2025 at 4:24 amBro you act as broker and pocketed part of your friends money , your fucked. The best course of action is to file a police complaint stating that YOU got scammed by this fake seller, and act like the victim just live and say to your friend that I was also the one who got scammed. And say that the fake seller said legitimate things I didnβt doubt anything and I say give the information of the seller to you but you insisted me to buy from him -

February 3, 2025 at 4:54 amMistake is totally yours.
When it comes to friendship, the money doesn’t matter
Here you become a direct tool for the scammer
Either pay her from your pocket or face the consequences.
