April 30, 2025 at 9:48 amI’m looking for advice on how to deal with this situation.A batchmate from my university in Bangalore once asked to use my “Pay Later” apps LazyPay and Simpl for a few purchases. I allowed it because he said he’d repay me right after. In total, he used around ₹6000 through my accounts.
After that, I kept following up and every time he just made excuses like:
“I’ll send it today,”
“Tomorrow for sure,”
“Within an hour,”
But he never actually sent the money. And now, he’s completely blocked me on all platforms and cut off all contact. I even tried reaching out through his father once, but that didn’t help either. Is there anything I can realistically do to recover the money or report this behavior?
It’s not a huge amount, but the dishonesty and misuse of my financial accounts really bothers me. Any suggestions for legal action, digital complaints, or other steps I can take would be appreciated. Thanks!

April 30, 2025 at 10:08 amLearn the lesson, end friendship and move on.I have lost small sums to close friends, distant friends but I make sure to kick them from my life.
I also used to think we should help poor people like maids, drivers who work for us.
Resultant => I am owed 30k from maid and 10k from drivers for family stuff and they haven’t paid back as well. Start crying when I deduct from their salary. I am assuming I will have to write them off. -

April 30, 2025 at 10:37 amIt’s frustrating when someone takes advantage of your trust, especially when it involves money and personal accounts. While it may seem like a small amount, the betrayal can feel huge. Have you considered reaching out to LazyPay and Simpl customer support to explain the situation? Sometimes they can assist with tracking payments or reporting misuse of accounts. You might also want to consider legal options, like filing a police complaint for fraud or misusing financial accounts.-
