RAround a month ago, Usually my myntra account has multiple vouchers and offers, so my 2 friends had ordered clothes using my account(as i have coupons) and up until last week, I have started getting payment reminders from simpl.Turns out they used the simpl pay at checkout. Now my friend has shifted and the other one denies having bought from it. The amount is Rs.2993. I turned 18 last month and i barely have even 500rs. Simpl keeps messaging me on whatsapp that theyll escalate my account wawa and im stuck with it.
What should i do now? -

FIf they asked you from your account to order how come you didn’t ask for money and they took clothes without payment unless you used those buy now pay later things and now struck.

PIn my orders you can check which order was paid using simpl also the address will be present so you can know for sure who ordered.

You need to ask your friend to pay it
Most probably your mobile no was used to create simpl account and they have taken or done payment through loan from simpl
Inform your friend to pay the money back to simpl account
Also share your friends number to simpl whatsapp msg
Is your number linked to your pan card?

EThen it’s ok, do they have your address??
If not then just close your WhatsApp number and stop using it. Get a new number.
As you are not ready to have a proper word with your friends on misuse of your mobile number to trap you in debt and ruin your well-being.
If you want to take action, then do reach out to a nearby lawyer and file a complaint accordingly.

SIs your Adhaar card linked to your phone number? If yes then you’ll be in deep trouble , you seem young and extremely naive, your post doesn’t contain all the necessary information needed to properly comment or help you in this case, you’re looking at denial of trips abroad, denial of loans in the future, denial of credit card requests , if this simpl card can be traced back to you then you will be screwed, ask your friends to make the payment for your own peace.

CThere’s an option to get more time on simpl, you have to upload some of your documents. Get that, present your friends with the bill ask them to pay, address of order delivered can be your proof or you will go to their parents and involve your parents, if you can ask them for help.
Also, simpl usually asks for otp and link your account with any shopping site/transactional page before you can pay, get it logged out of all the devices and login in again.-

HSimpl people will keep harassing you with calls from 1 million phone numbers in case you keep blocking them. One of the steps will also include a legal notice to pay the amount back. Your best bet is to pay the amount and save yourself from this harassment. I’m not sure if it affects the CIBIL too.

IThe bad news is that, from Simpl’s perspective, these purchases have been made by you, and you owe them money. It is not their concern if you are unable to keep your account secure from such unauthorised access.
They are well within their rights to initiate relevant recovery proceedings against you.The good news is that, for most users, Simpl does not report to CIBIL.
Although in January 2024, they did attempt to implement limited eKYC and CRIF/CIBIL score requirements, this was not followed through for all users.
I would advise you to check your CIBIL report to see if it reflects any such reporting. -

SIf u really want a solution and your so called friend is not taking this seriously then call his dad and tell him the entire scenario.
If he is 5% good then you ll get your money and uour friend will be screwed.
Chodna wodna hai toh ask him to take loan on his name and pay it off then u can leave it.

Op you are either noob or over smart .
Simple thing is someone used your phone number to order stuff by using simpl account .You can simply check the address , if it’s your friend’s , ask him to pay for his mishaps. It’s not something that you took from a friend and later delaying to pay. It is a loan and you or whoever used it are liable to pay for it .
Because ultimately ,it will hamper you ,Since the account was created under your number and under KYC norms , your details are fetched. lending companies are not fool to give loans or credits without pan check , so either you are lying about pan or your scamster friend might have added someone else’s details for pan check .Whoever’s pancard is used , once he /she got to know , they will lodge a complaint about misuse of their data and it will lead to legal mess.
In the end , number is yours ,account is yours , those ‘Rahne de yaar’ asshole friend is yours .So it is going to be you who will suffer the issues if no payment is made towards the exiting dues and interest will pile up soon .

CSimpl doesn’t report to civil for most users so you’re safe in that regard. But what do owe the company money, if they follow through with a suit is a separate topic mostly they would simply resort to phone calls and stuff. But they are well within their rights to initiate legal proceedings against you as they should.
People like you need to be taught a valuable life lesson that your parents failed to.

DFirst check your CIBIL report if Simpl has an active loan account there. It might be of a different name depending on their lending partner.
As you mentioned you don’t have PAN, there is no way they can update your CIBIL report as they don’t have access. But if the account is visible on CIBIL, it’s in your best interest that you pay.
A friend of mine was in a similar predicament and he just switched off his number and moved on. Simpl did not report anything on his CIBIL.
