        I had a stay booked for 2 Nights for three rooms, at Clarks INN Hampi.

        The booking was not done from third-party service, but Directly from Clarks Hotel’s website.

        At the time of check-in, hotel GM said they were overbooked, won’t be able to provide a stay and the amount would be refunded back.

        It has been over 10 days but they have not refunded back my money, it is about 30,000. I have been calling the GM, but he has stopped answering my calls.
        Payment was done from ICICI CC and they are also of not of any help regarding this.

        What is that can be done now? I stay at Bengaluru but Hotel is in Hampi.

        Is there any way to file dispute from Bengaluru?

        P.S. – I understand, I should not have leave the Hotel premises without getting a Refund, but that mistake has been done already.
        Just looking for a way how can I get my money back.

          File FIR for fraud & breach of trust on CEO of hotel..

                      The best is go through tge route of consumer forums. You can overpass tge jurisdictional limitations. But it may be costly so go for compensation as well.

                          🔝 this is the sensible approach to it. Everything else is theory/bullshit that will cause you more pain than anything the hotel.

                          Call ICICI call Center and ask for a charge back as the booking was declined.

                              It’s not that simple. Bank will not do it without sufficient evidence and will certainly ask for FIR. So don’t talk something that you don’t know about.

                                  I have done credit card charge back and have never been asked for FIRs. So feel free to educate us all.

                                  FIR is needed if you claim unauthorised transaction etc. For denial or non receipt of service, they simply ask the vendor for proof of fulfilment.

                                      For small chillar amount it is not an issue. Try that with a bigger amount.

                                  As a former employee of such a fraudulent chain, the best approach that work is to call police on the premises of the hotel. That will cause embarrassment to hotel in front of guest and they will move faster.

                                      Dial 112 or 100 from the hotel lobby to see them pissing, and remember to record the video and send it to us.

                                                If the hotel is overbooked, they’re obligated to bump you to a similar, close by hotel and provide transportation for this as well.
                                                Apply for chargeback on ICICI, tag this chain on twitter and file a consumer complaint as well.

                                                  Hope you have raised a dispute with your bank/card company? Do it immediately. I had a similar issue ( I refused to check-in as the room provided was not as per booking) and I raised a dispute withu card company and got the refund in like 50 days

                                                    1. Raise a dispute with card company
                                                    2. Leave a stinking comment with evidence ( after redacting )on their google business page
                                                    3. Post it on twitter , tag the hotels , tag the local media houses , youtube / insta influencers
                                                    4. Send a legal notice to the hotel.
                                                    5. File a complaint on consumer forums

                                                        Did you get cancellation mail?

                                                          Hire a lawyer and file a consumer case, you have more likelihood of winning the case along with extra compensation for mental agony and loss. The recent consumer case of the man winning 60k against PVR for playing extra long advertisements before the film proves my point.

                                                            File a consumer case on the district consumer forum website.. the process is online and relatively easy… since the amount is not high I would not recommend hiring a lawyer but it is ok to go for a one time consultation…

                                                            Also side by side post on social media and tag them to create pressure…
