January 15, 2025 at 11:28 pmHello.I was let go in 10 minutes after I was done for the day.
I have been extremely productive and have been noticed because I stayed longer hours, worked harder than my POCs and recognising needs and taking up initiatives. To be super short, this is what happened. – My POCs being jealous of me from the start, realised there are going to do a mass layoff as the project was not doing well and shifted my role last minute.
This automatically means I wont instantly be able to perform well as speed takes time to build. For others maybe 10ish days, but I would do it maybe in 4-5 because of the way i sincerely worked. Now, as a layoff was happening, they considered 3 day performance and laid me off on the basis of that.
I feel extremely dejected. Please tell me what I could do?
Labor laws? Employee rights/ laws? Please guide me.

January 15, 2025 at 11:39 pmWhat kind of company is this? I would say Check for what they are giving for settlement and move on. I would never advise fighting for the job back but rather taking the severance and moving on. You may feel dejected but think of it in way that its happen for good as would you like to work for company where you are not respected. -

January 16, 2025 at 2:40 amBro ,I am assuming you have just started your career . Take from me , nothing good can come out of a smaller organisation where there is a massive layoff . Even if you survive , there won’t be any hike and lot of unstructured work .Better take the sal , and put all your energy in your new job . -

January 16, 2025 at 6:28 amLawyer hereIf you want my honest opinion, take the severance (request for one if they have not provided one) and move on to something else. Fighting wrongly termination is tough unless it was done because of discrimination or because of POSH. Arbitrary reasons for layoffs are common and at the end of the day your productivity is not something easily quantifiable in the eyes of the law.
Swallow your pride and move to a company that doesn’t have such a terrible work culture. You said you are a we’ll performing employee I’m sure you’ll not have any trouble finding a company that values you for your work.
