Got notice of copyright infringement by Bentley Systems

I have downloaded a cracked copy of their licensed software and used it for some time. I did not get a license as it was very costly. A few days later, they sent a legal notice for copyright infringement.

I have also replied on the mail accepting the illegal usage. They are forcing me to get a license for it and asking to pay 5 lakh INR for the same. I don’t have the funds to do so. What are the odds of them filing a case or what should be the next steps I should follow?

Such a pure man accepting the illegal usage, what did you think , accepting your mistake will make them forgive you?

I did the mistake in the heat of the moment. But the indian subsidiary that files the case seems to be very pro litigation.

I checked in https://indiankanoon.org/, they have filed a 50 cases over 3 years. But the few cases i read have atleast 2 or 3 software with multiple counts of infringement. All the cases I checked are no shows by defendant. So really confused
